Here is to wishing I could knit.

That hat is so cute, and with Daniel and I looking north for graduate schools I will need a few hats for the winters. This book, Boutique Knits, is full of vintage inspired knits. My mom has tried to teach me but this is one craft I never picked up. Oh how I want that hat.

Gardening

Daniel and I have decided to tackle or front garden. We have been working for days, pulling out bushes, monkey grass, and just regular grass. It will be wonderful when we are done. There will be a walkway and a fountain. We are having fun even in the 100 degree heat.

I got myself BFA'd

Yep I did it, unfortunately I have been forced to graduate with my BFA in photography. I wanted to stay in school, I can't understand why my friends were all ready to be done. I am already planning on how to get back in....MFA here I come.

If you haven't seen it yet go to my website..... www.laurenquinnward.com and see my BFA show it a critical look at my life using Nancy Drew to represent myself.

It was so nice having my family up here for a while. My aunt flew in and got to see our cute house; I was so excited to show it to her. Now we wait for our vacation, not much longer!

Today I found this amazing blog by Casey Brown. She has tutorials up on how to do a 1940's hairstyle. I am having fun watching them and want to try a few out.

Happy Mother's Day

I am so thankful for my momma! She is a woman who has supported me no matter what decision or life choice I wanted to make. She stood by me with unwavering support, and for that I am always grateful. And now she stands by my husband as well as if her we her own son, giving him love, encouragement, and favoritism. I wish that I could have been with my family today, but they will be up here soon enough!

Thank you for being a friend...

The sharp-witted, husky-voiced punch-line machine of my favorite show passed away Saturday at the age of 86. Bea Arthur was one of televisions greatest actresses and was a two time award winner. I am sad to hear she died, but know that she is in a much better place. She will live on forever in her shows. Thank you for being a friend.

Embroidery

I have had my eye on several Japanese embroidery books over the last few months. I am currently in a book making class and would like to sew on the covers and on the pages. The combination of textures with a sewing motif will be an interesting combination I think! One of the sellers on Etsy, Pomadour24, has a ton of them.

Mind over Matter

I don't mind because YOU don't matter.
